Saabat is one of the North Yorkshire leading galleries for modern and contemporary art and craft. This landmark Primitive Methodist substantial brick building In South Bank Normanby Road, is designed by George Race of Westgate (Weardale), erected in 1878, and capable of seating 700 persons. Saabat opened to the public on 1st January 2014. Saabat hosts temporary exhibitions of fine art and craft from 2014 to the present. Featuring work by nationally acclaimed artists. The gallery brings together the people and culture for the first time in South Bank. Exhibitions change throughout the year and admission is free.
