Growing Together: Saabat Community Garden
A space to connect, grow, and celebrate together
Welcome to Growing Together: Saabat Community Garden, a community led project all about bringing people together through nature, creativity, and culture. Over the next year, we’ll be transforming our garden into a thriving hub of activity, learning, and joy, a place where everyone is welcome to take part, share skills, and grow something beautiful together.
We’ll be offering a variety of free activities and workshops, designed with the community and for the community:
Weekly Gardening Sessions
Come along to plant, nurture, and harvest fresh food, herbs, and flowers. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, it’s all about learning, sharing, and connecting with nature (and each other!).
Creative & Sustainability Workshops
Get hands-on with sessions in sustainability, crafts, creative arts, and food growing. These workshops are a chance to learn new skills, spark ideas, and celebrate what we can create together.
Monthly Cultural Gatherings
Each month we’ll come together to celebrate our community’s diverse backgrounds through shared food, music, and storytelling — building friendships and understanding across cultures and generations.
Youth & Family Activities
We’ll be running fun, family-friendly sessions that invite young people to explore the natural world, play outdoors, and connect with others in a safe and welcoming space.
Wellbeing in the Garden
Take time to slow down with gentle movement, mindfulness, and social sessions designed to nurture wellbeing and connection in the calm, green surroundings of the garden.
Our garden is more than just a growing space, it’s a place for belonging, learning, and caring for each other and the planet. Together, we’re improving biodiversity, reducing waste through composting, and learning how to grow sustainably.
Through Growing Together, we’re transforming an urban green space into a vibrant, healing, and creative community garden, a living example of what can bloom when people come together with care and purpose.
